Exploring Champagne and Ardenne by motorbike

Exploring Champagne and Ardenne by motorbike

Using a motorbike is a good way to travel off the beaten track to explore heritage sites, vineyards and gastronomy and panoramas of Champagne and Ardenne.

A number of defined routes have been created by and for bikers and produced by Michelin Guides and Roadtrip Magazine.

From the Langres plateau in the south to the vineyards of the Marne, driving through the Ardenne forests or the lakes of the Aube, there's a seasonal backdrop to appreciate and explore.

There are seven well-planned itineraries covering the highlights of the region:

The Montagne de Reims and Chemin des Dames(171 km)

Starting from Reims and through Cathedral country to discover the vineyards of Champagne and the battlefields of rural Aisne

Between the Marne and Vineyards(202 km)

Starting from Château-Thierry and exploring the hillside vineyards of the river Marne and its forest areas

The Great Lakes (173km)

Starting from Troyes through champagne vineyards to the forests and great lakes of the Aube

Along the Burgundy Canal (444km)

Starting from Nogent-sur-Seine through rolling hills, green valleys and the tranquility of waterside routes.

The Great Ardennes Massif route (401km)

Starting from Charleville-Mézières, a favourite playground for Belgian bikers with scenery and the gastro specialities of the French Ardenne

Around the Argonne region (284km)

Starting from Sainte-Ménehould and through a quiet rural area steeped in Celtic legends that has seen several conflicts through the ages

The Aube and Haute-Marne route (420 km)

Starting from Langres and winding country roads and historic highlights combined with wine & gastronomic heritage

A factsheet is included with each section including information on the museums, visitor sites and monuments of the region, as well as tips on where to eat and stay.
